Director's Statement
The final scene of ‘Village Rockstars’ always stayed with me—Dhunu standing in a field at sunset, receiving her first real guitar from her mother. The moment was magical. Without any formal training, she instinctively played, creating a beautiful sound. It reminded me how raw talent can bloom into art.
In 2020, I began working on ‘Village Rockstars 2’,and over the last four years, it evolved into something more layered. The film stands on its own, focusing on Dhunu’s relationship with her mother, nature, and music as she navigates her teenage years. It’s been a privilege to witness Dhunu’s journey. This film is for young dreamers with talent but limited resources.
